Maryville Life Chain 2009

The 2009 Maryville Life Chain on October 4 attracted at least 106 participants to the downtown area, likely the largest group in it's 13+ year history. It was great to see the pro-life community of Maryville coming together as one for prayer and witness. Several churches were represented in addition to the Catholic Newman Center at NWMSU and seminarians from Conception Seminary College. Check out the Maryville Daily Forum article (including more photos) and make plans to join us next year!

Pray with thousands of life chain participants across North America. Let your witness shine forth.
The Maryville Life Chain will be October 4th from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on the East side of Main St., from 2nd to 5th St. in downtown Maryville, Mo. Please promote Life Chain September 19 through October 4. I can provide a flyer to hand out or insert in bulletins or newsletters.
Let me know if you have questions. Send an email if you would like the bulletin notices or flyer (jgoettemoeller[at]hotmail.com) Let’s work together for the cause of life.

Report on Thine Eyes showing in Maryville

An appreciative audience viewed "Thine Eyes" at "The Hangar" in Maryville MO recently. This is a documentary about the 2009 March for Life in DC. The producer, Jack Cashill, was on hand and answered questions. He also told the story of how the movie came to be. He complimented "The Hangar" for their excellent projection and sound system. We can be proud of the movie theater we have here in Maryville and we can be proud of the Pro-Life community here. May God strengthen us and inspire ever more people to get involved..

Documentary about March for Life coming to Maryville Theater

This is a great opportunity for pro-lifers in Northwest Missouri. "Thine Eyes: A Witness to the March for Life" is coming to The Hangar on South Main St. in Maryville Missouri, Septemeber 14 at 6 pm. Tickets are $5.00 at the door. Proceeds go to the "Thine Eyes Fund" in Olathe Kansas. One of the producers, Jack Cashill, will also speak about the film and take questions. The story behind the filming includes how Benedictine College in Atchison Kansas came to be featured in the film instead of Notre Dame University as was originally planned.

"Thine Eyes" was designed to look and sound great in theaters. If you have seen the movie on Youtube, on a TV screen, or attended the March for Life yourself, you will want to see it on the big screen along with others from around northwest Missouri. If you ever wondered what the march looks like from above, or why hundreds of thousand of people come every year, this is your chance to find out. Visit the official Thine Eyes web site and also check out Chelsea Zimmerman's article at Reflections of a Paralytic.

Nodaway County Fair Parade Report

We had a great time at the Parade in Maryville on July 18, 2009. The weather was fabulous, and the crowd was very open to taking our pro-life brochures with life saver candies attached. We gave out about 1200 of these. Our signs and float were awesome as well. Best of all, we had about 15 people participating, including several children and parents. Some people handed things out and some held signs.

On the loudspeaker, the parade announcer also read our submitted copy of this great pro-life message:

"A band of heroes founded our nation with the declaration that all human beings are created with the right to ‘Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness’ and that the role of government is to ‘secure these rights.’ Tri-County Right to Life honors the sacrifice of our founding fathers by working for the protection of human life from conception to natural death. We recognize that Life is the necessary pre-condition for all human rights. Tri-County Right to Life honors moms and dads for choosing life. Through their gift of self, mothers and fathers are the true American Heroes. They are heroes of life and love. We owe them our thanks and our lives."
